This month Wellington hosts the New Zealand Society of Earthquake Engineering (NZSEE) Annual Technical Conference and the 15th World Conference on Seismic Isolation, Energy Dissipation and Active Vibration Control of Structures.  Yes, it’s a bit of a mouthful however with all the recent earthquake activity we have been experiencing, it is a very timely event to be hosting in our city.  The theme of the conference is the next generation of low damage and resilient structures which is exciting as it’s a passion of ours to do what we can to ensure the structures we live, work and play in, are as safe as possible and structurally sound.

An example of some building damage from the recent Kaikoura earthquake.

The conference is attracting delegates from across New Zealand and around the world.  All who will be descending on Wellington to review current development, research and international trends in the quest for improved structural performance in earthquakes.  We’re excited to be part of the upcoming conference as well and for the second time, CSI will have a stand at the conference.  We’re looking forward to being a part of the discussion on topics that are extremely relevant after the Kaikoura Earthquakes and are proud to be one of the organisations able to contribute to the discussion of issues that are key to the broad disciplines of earthquake engineering.

If you’re attending the conference pop along and say gidday and at the same time take a look at all the interesting exhibition stands on offer!!  The conference is being held at the Michael Fowler Centre and kicks off on Thursday 27 April and winds up on Saturday 29 April.  Full details on the conference program including times can be found here.

Of course, if you can’t wait until the end of April to get in touch and have a chat about how our services can help the structural integrity of your buildings?  Drop us a line here or phone 0800 33 7767. Winners of the 2016 Wellington Gold Awards in Emerging Services.
