The past few weeks have seen Wellington and other parts of New Zealand shaken by a number of large earthquakes. Apart from being disruptive, unsettling and sometimes just plain scary, the safety and integrity of your buildings may have been compromised by the damage that isn’t immediately visible or obvious.

In Wellington we have seen a number of buildings closed, businesses relocated and tenants and employees either working temporarily from home or in alternative office space. If there are any doubts at all about safety then we’re sure you will agree that this is the right thing to do.

But what if you are a building owner who may have doubts about whether or not your building has sustained damage that isn’t immediately obvious or visible.  For example reinforcement deformation, concrete cracking, voids, delamination and pile integrity being compromised.  The first and easiest thing you can do yourself to help identify whether your building might be damaged is to complete a visual check.  There may be problems to investigate if you see cracks in the structure or have detected considerable lateral movement in the building structure.

If you’re not sure then call in an expert, CSI can assist you with independent, targeted and accurate testing of your buildings using innovative technology. We can identify those areas of concern for an upgrade.  This can save considerable time, expense and disruption for building owners and tenants.
